Ray_bio_picMr. Ray Amanat, of The Respect Center, has been very involved in personal awareness and assault prevention for over 27 years. Not only is he successful in the areas of martial arts as a competitor in fighting, weapons, and open hand routines locally and nationally, but he is also the owner and chief instructor of his own school. Mr. Amanat is also very involved in training youth in child abduction prevention and women in his rape prevention courses.

Mr. Amanat is on staff with the Florissant Valley Community College in St. Louis and instructs women and youth in both these courses through their continuing education program. He has also conducted numerous lectures for colleges, high schools and corporations for students and staff members for street smart tips on avoiding assaults or rape situations. The response to his courses are an indication of how much people are starting to take seriously their personal safety and the safety of their family members. Several of the major local news stations in the St. Louis area have interviewed Mr. Amanat because of his practical approach to self-defense.

Mr. Amanat is the head coach of the "Team Respect" National Competition Team which is very involved in community and civic affairs. His team is frequently asked to perform for local organizations like the Boy scouts and Girl Scouts, fairs, church functions, charity events, and other functions throughout the St. Louis area. Mr. Amanat has also been invited to several events in other states to conduct lectures or workshops. The team consist of many talented youth and adults from ages 10 on up whom not only locally but also nationally continue to win numerous awards in their divisions for their participation in the events.

Mr. Amanat is also involved with the widely acclaimed D.A.R.E. program by doing lectures in area schools on drug issues, gang issues, and resolving personal conflicts students may encounter in a more positive manner through role play. Currently he is involved with teaching Heroes In ActionŽ, a program promoting conflict resolution and anger management through assertive skills for both the aggressive and passive student.

Mr. Amanat comes from a multi style background in the martial arts with an emphasis in Kali and Tae Kwon Do. The variety of styles he has trained under offer his students a well rounded view towards dealing with potential attackers of different skills. (Example - puncher, kicker, grappler, or someone with a weapon)
